Wish upon a star

Wish upon a star

It was my Birthday month last month (July) and I opted to have the new collection from Tracy Evan boutique designs.

I was thinking about all that had gone on for our family this year and the world as a whole. It does not feel like a safe place. I guess this wish is for everyone. I also wanted to create something that was pretty and to begin with it was going to be only in shades of blue. However I didn't have a plan only to use the large star. As I enjoyed each step a new idea came to mind for what was to follow. Do you craft like this or do you plan? Or maybe a little of both?

Joy for me that is a state of contentment, being in the moment, able to breathe, fun family times, the making of good memories, health for loved ones and myself, for you it will be something different.

As well as Peace, peace in my mind, no stress, anxiety or worry. Peace as a whole, an end to conflict which at the moment is hard to imagine.

I created this tag with the distressed star die and one of the lovely stamp sets and snippet stencil snowflake.
I wanted it to be calming pretty colours, with shimmer and shine. I added tiny iridescent glass crystals, sparkle pastes, Lindy's magicals, embossing powders and distess oxides and inks.

Here are a few close ups

A pop of colour A butterfly, I couldn't resist.

  1. This is definitely a work of art! It is beautiful how you have done everything in shades of blue. The ice crystals in between are a very nice detail. You can certainly be proud of this!

For me, creating something is a way of completely disconnecting from everything around me. I often work without a plan beforehand and just see what emerges.

    1. Thank you so much for popping over to read this. I agree about disconnecting, it's the only thing that keeps me sane sometimes. 😂 I am so happy that you enjoyed seeing it. I will definitely be trying this combination of blues for Christmas. Working without a plan is my favourite way to create. The finished project is always a surprise.
